... 에지 정보를 이용한 타일 모자이크 영상 생성 장치 및 방법이 개시된다. 에지 검출부는 입력 영상 프레임으로부터 에지를 검출한 후 영상 프레임 사이의 시간적 연속성을 보장하기 위해 객체의 외곽선을 포함하는 중요 에지를 결정한다. 오프셋 영역 결정부는 중요 에지를 기준으로 거리 맵을 이용하여 오프셋 영역을 설정한다. 타일 생성부는 각각의 오프셋 영역에 대해 타일의 크기, 모양, 위치 및 색상을 결정하여 각각의 타일을 생성한다. 렌더링부는 각각의 오프셋 영역들에 속하는 타일들을 렌더링하여 입력 영상 프레임에 대응하는 타일 모자이크 영상 프레임을 생성한다. 본 발명에 따르면, 동영상의 각 프레임에 존재하는 에지 정보를 기초로 각 프레임으로부터 생성된 타일 모자이크 프레임 사이의 타일 위치, 형태, 색상의 시간적 일관성 및 스크로크의 일관성을 유지함으로써 양호한 품질의 타일 모자이크 동영상을 생성할 수 있다. 또한 타일 모자이크 동영상의 각 프레임을 구성하는 타일들의 프레임 속성의 일관성을 유지함으로써 플리커링의 발생을 억제할 수 있다.
