... 본 연구는 충북 소재 부품 장비 분야 기술개발 지원 사업과 한국전력공사 에너지 스타트업 기업자율형 상생프로그램에 의해 지원되었다. 본 발명은 현재 상용화 되어 있는 무기물을 사용한 리튬 이온 이차전지를 대체하기 위한 기술로서 유기물을 전극 물질로 사용하여 이차전지를 구성하는 기술이다. 현재의 리튬 이온 이차전지는 전극 물질로 리튬 화합물의 무기물을 사용하고 있다. 리튬 이차전지 시장이 확장되면서 리튬 원료의 가격이 급속하게 증가하고 있으며 폐기나 재활용이 어려워 환경오염을 초래하고 있다. 또한 급속 충전 특성이 좋지 않아 전기자동차에 적용하는데 한계를 지니고 있다. 반면 유기 전극을 사용한 유기 이차전지는 환경 친화적이며 재활용이나 폐기가 쉽고 전지 무게가 가볍고 고출력과 고속 충전(10분 이내)이 가능하며 리튬 원료를 사용하지 않아 전지의 생산 비용을 현저하게 감소시킬 수가 있다. 그러나 유기 전극은 전기 전도도가 좋지 않아 전극 내 많은 양의 탄소 소재의 전도체를 포함시켜야 하기 때문에 실제 에너지 밀도가 낮다는 단점을 가지고 있다. 이러한 단점을 극복하기 위하여 본 발명에서는 유기 전극 물질을 다공성의 활성탄과 같은 탄소 구조체 공극 내부에 채우고 탄소 구조체의 외부에도 코팅함으로써 전극 내 유기 활물질의 로딩량을 증가 시켰다. 또한 기존에 사용되는 Al 이나 Cu와 같은 금속 집전체 대신에 카본소재 집전체를 사용하여 플렉서블하며 바이더가 없는 유기 전극을 제작함으로서 로딩량을 증가시키며 전지의 무게를 줄이며 전기화학적 특성을 향상 시켰다.
