The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating dry eye containing a maple leaf extract. More specifically, the present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating dry eye containing a maple leaf extract or a fraction thereof as an active ingredient, a method for preventing or treating dry eye using the pharmaceutical composition, a food composition for preventing or alleviating dry eye containing the maple leaf extract or the fraction thereof as the active ingredient, and a cosmetic composition. The maple leaf extract of the present invention can prevent, ameliorate, and treat dry eye, at a similar or higher level of previously used drugs for treating dry eye.
