本發明係提供一種差分分層影像壓縮方法,係先擷取影像,再將該影像之色彩空間由RGB色彩模式轉換為YCbCr色彩模式,繼而對轉換色彩空間後之影像資料作彩度取樣,用以獲致影像之像素資料,再以一固定的閥值為基準自左而右調整影像之像素資料中每一列之像素值,若影像之像素資料每一列中右方鄰近像素值小於閥值,使右方像素值等於左方像素值,用以獲致一第一影像區塊資料,復對該第一影像區塊資料每一列進行差分運算,用以將該第一影像區塊資料中每一列的值化簡為0與若干差值,而獲致一第二影像區塊資料,最後,將差分運算後之第二影像區塊資料中每一差值予以分層,用以形成多數第三影像區塊資料,再分別將各該第三影像區塊資料進行摺疊與編碼,用以獲得該影像資料之壓縮碼。
