A solid adsorbent of modified natural macromolecular compound is prepared through mixing gelatin (8-15 w%) with aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol in volume ratio of (1-3) : (8-2), regulating pH value to 2-4, quantitatively adding glutaraldehyde, mixing with organic solvent in which non-ionic surfactant is dissolved, heating, reaction, filter and washing to obtain the spherical (0.2-1 mm) adsorbent of gelatin-polyvinyl alcohol polymer. Said adsorbent can be used to extract the substance containing flavone glycoside (more than 59%) and the substance containing terpene lactone (more than 35%) from gingko leaves, and to remove tannin from Chinese medicine. Said adsorbent features high strength and stability, low cost and reuse.
