SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING CLUTTER IN AN ACQUIRED IMAGE

Номер: US20160180198A1
Принадлежит:

This invention provides a system and method for determining the level of clutter in an image in a manner that is rapid, and that allows a scoring process to quickly determine whether an image is above or below an acceptable level of clutter—for example to determine if the underlying imaged runtime object surface is defective without need to perform a more in-depth analysis of the features of the image. The system and method employs clutter test points that are associated with regions on the image that should contain a low gradient magnitude, indicative of emptiness. This enables the runtime image to be analyzed quickly by mapping trained clutter test points at locations in the coordinate space in which lack of emptiness indicates clutter, and if detected, can rapidly indicate differences and/or defects that allow for the subject of the image to be accepted or rejected without further image analysis. 1. A method for determining clutter in an imaged scene with a vision system comprising the steps of:providing a runtime image of a scene;providing a trained pattern with a set of clutter test points that represent a level of emptiness in the trained pattern;establishing a runtime pose with a coordinate space for the image with respect to the trained pattern;mapping the clutter test points on the coordinate space for the image;determining a level of emptiness respectively at the mapped clutter test points; andbased upon the level of emptiness, determining a level of clutter in at least a portion of the image.2. Method of using highly branched novolaks in photoresists

-i-PATENT APPLICATION of LEONARD EDWARD BOGAN, Jr. and KAREN ANN GRAZIANO for METHOD OF USING HIGHLY BRANCHED NOVOLAKS IN PHOTORESISTS DN:88:96 MSA:vjc ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of using highly branched novolak resins in photoresists is provided. The use of highly branched novolak resins as a film-forming binder component in a photoresist composition has been shown to increase the photospeed and lithographic contrast of the photoresist relative to photoresists containing novolak ploymers having lower degrees of branching. The highly branched novolaks are particularly useful in negative-acting photoresists, and more particularly in negative-acting, acid-hardening photoresists.

Process For Converting A Hydroxy Carboxylic Acid Or Salts Thereof, To An Unsaturated Carboxylic Acid And/Or Its Esters

Номер: EP2036879A1
Принадлежит: Rohm and Haas Co

A process for converting a salt of a hydroxycarboxylic acid to an unsaturated carboxylic acid, or esters thereof. The process involves converting an ammonium salt of a hydroxycarboxylic acid in aqueous solution to a corresponding hydroxycarboxylic acid and ammonium cation in aqueous solution; and separating the ammonium cation from the aqueous solution, leaving the hydroxycarboxylic acid in aqueous solution. The converting and separating steps may be accomplished by employing a hydrophobic acid or an acid ion exchange resin, each of which must have an acid dissociation constant, i.e., pK a , at least 0.5 less that that of the salt of the hydroxycarboxylic acid. Where a hydrophobic acid is used, it must be immiscible in water, and its salt must also be immiscible in water, and the resulting multi-phase solution comprises an aqueous phase comprising the corresponding hydroxycarboxylic acid, as well as a non-aqueous phase comprising a neutralized acid. Alternatively, where the ion exchange resin is used, the aqueous solution of the ammonium salt of a hydroxycarboxylic acid is contacted with the resin, thereby converting the salt to a hydroxycarboxylic acid and capturing the ammonium cations on the resin. In either case, the aqueous solution is treated, such as by heating, to separate and recover the hydroxycarboxylic acid. The non-aqueous phase or resin is treated to separate and recover ammonia useful for preparing additional ammonium salt of a hydroxycarboxylic acid.

A disposable interventional medical device assembly for use with a color ultrasonic imaging system or other ultrasonic systems sensitive to motion. The assembly includes an interventional medical device having an elongated member for insertion into an interior region of a body under investigation, and piezo driver assembly coupled to the member of the interventional medical device. The driver assembly produces a vibratory oscillation which causes the member to exhibit a flexural motion in response thereto, the flexural motion having a zero amplitude point and a maximum amplitude point, wherein the driver assembly is coupled to the member at a point located between the zero amplitude point and the maximum amplitude point of the member's flexural motion. In one embodiment of the present invention, the interventional medical device can be a biopsy needle wherein the elongated member is the shaft of the biopsy needle. Also described is an ultrasonic imaging system which includes the earlier described disposable interventional medical device assembly and a scanner for detecting the flexural motion of the member of the disposable interventional medical device when the member is inserted into an interior region of a body under investigation. The system generate an image of the interior region of the body under investigation in which the flexural motion is locatively represented.
