The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an electrode for a lithium secondary battery, and an electrode for a lithium secondary battery manufactured thereby. More specifically, the method comprises the steps of: forming a primer layer including a conductive material on a current collector; irradiating an ion beam onto the entire primer layer to form a concave pattern and thus a patterned primer layer; and forming an electrode layer including an electrode active material on the patterned primer layer. Interposing a patterned primer layer between a current collector and an electrode layer, the present invention can improve structural safety and conductivity in the electrode, with the consequent enhancement of performance and lifespan of the lithium secondary battery.
