The transmission-line transformer according to the present invention is formed on an integrated circuit, and has a first transmission line which is formed in one direction. ... 본 발명은 권선의 비대칭 구조를 이용한 트랜스포머에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따르면, 입력단으로부터 인가받은 단일 종단(Single-Ended) 신호를 차동 신호로 변환하여 출력단으로 출력하는 트랜스포머에 있어서, 상기 트랜스포머는, 상기 입력단으로부터 상기 단일 종단 신호를 인가받는 1차측 코일 및 상기 1차측 코일에 의해 유도 전류를 형성하는 2차측 코일을 포함하며, 상기 1차측 코일은 제1단이 상기 입력단에 연결되고, 제2단이 상기 출력단의 제1 노드에 연결되며, 상기 2차측 코일은 제1단이 접지전원과 연결되고, 제2단이 상기 출력단의 제2 노드에 연결된다. 이와 같이 본 발명에 따르면, 트랜스포머의 1차측 코일 및 2차측 코일의 연결구조를 변경함으로써 추가적인 공간을 사용하지 않고도 변압시 발생하는 전력의 누수를 최소화 할 수 있다. 또한, 이를 증폭기에 사용할 경우 증폭기 전체의 전력 이득 및 전력 변환 효율을 향상시킬 수 있으며, 집적회로상에 추가적인 공간을 요하지 않으므로 집적회로 설계에 효율적이다.
