Cooling fluid substantially continuously flows through the sensing circuit, regardless of whether the valve element is open or closed. The sensing circuit provides feedback to a temperature-responsive mechanical amplifier for opening and closing the valve element.

A connecting module includes a plurality of input ends and an output end. The output end of the connecting module is coupled to an external storage device. When at least two input ends of the connecting module are coupled to corresponding output ends of the host device, the connecting module outputs power supplied by the host device to the external storage device via the plurality of input ends. This way, the connecting module outputs power to the external device when at least two input ends of the connecting module are coupled to the host device, for ensuring the external storage device to receive sufficient power at the instant the external storage device receives power.

A battery monitoring apparatus that senses battery conditions such as low battery charge, end of battery capacity, and end of battery life, and responds by taking actions such as sending messages to a remote site and/or powering down. A rechargeable battery is coupled to one or more power-consuming electrical components, including battery monitoring equipment. The battery monitoring equipment senses battery charge. In response to a low-battery-charge condition, the battery monitoring equipment transmits a battery status message to a remote site and powers-down some of the electrical components. Whenever the battery nears the end of its capacity, the monitoring equipment powers down all electronic components and awaits the application of external power. The invention also tracks the time required for the battery charge to deplete. Charge duration decreases over time, and whenever it reaches a predetermined minimum, the battery monitoring equipment transmits a representative status message to the remote site.

A universal USB charger connected to an electronic device stored with a set of preset voltage values has a power supply circuit, a USB interface having a V BUS terminal and a ground terminal respectively connected to a positive DC power terminal and a ground terminal of the power supply circuit, and an output voltage switching module having multiple preset voltage units corresponding to electronic devices of multiple brands and a switching interface connected between the preset voltage units and a D + terminal and a D − terminal of the USB interface. Each preset voltage unit outputs a D + voltage and a D − voltage. The switching interface is operated to output the D + and D − voltages associated with the electronic device through the D + and D − terminals. After determining that the D + and D − voltages match the set of preset voltage values, the electronic device allows itself to be charged by the charger.
