The invention relates to a polyester film suitable for a composite current collector. The polyester film comprises the following raw materials in parts by mass: 50-70 parts of polyester with the intrinsic viscosity of 0.6-0.8 dL/g, 12-18 parts of high-viscosity polyester with the intrinsic viscosity of greater than 0.8 dL/g, 2-3 parts of hydroxyl-terminated hyperbranched polyester, 1-2 parts of a dispersing agent and 0.2-0.4 part of SiO2. The polyester film prepared by the invention has excellent mechanical property, size thermal stability and film-forming property under the condition of ultra-thin thickness (4.5-6 microns), is uniform in thickness, and is suitable for being used as an insulating high-molecular intermediate layer of a composite current collector.
