PROCESS OF PRODUCING A TITANIUM DIOXIDE-BASED PHOTOCATALYST USED FOR DEGRADATION OF ORGANIC POLLUTANTS

A process of producing a titanium dioxide-based photocatalyst used for degradation of organic pollutants includes the steps of: (a) preparing a mixture solution which includes a titanium dioxide precursor and a transition metal salt having a transition metal ion which is capable of reducing a band gap of titanium dioxide; (b) aging the mixture solution so as to obtain a gel; (c) treating the gel to form an ion-doped titanium dioxide; (d) depositing silver nanoparticles on the ion-doped titanium dioxide to obtain a modified titanium dioxide-based photocatalyst; and (e) calcining the modified titanium dioxide-based photocatalyst. 1. A process of producing a titanium dioxide-based photocatalyst used for degradation of organic pollutants , comprising the steps of:(a) preparing a mixture solution which includes a titanium dioxide precursor and a transition metal salt having a transition metal ion which is capable of reducing a band gap of titanium dioxide;(b) aging the mixture solution so as to obtain a gel;(c) treating the gel to form an ion-doped titanium dioxide in which the titanium dioxide is derived from the titanium dioxide precursor and is doped by the metal ion, and which has a band gap lower than that of a titanium dioxide;(d) depositing silver nanoparticles on the ion-doped titanium dioxide to obtain a modified titanium dioxide-based photocatalyst; and(e) calcining the modified titanium dioxide-based photocatalyst.2. The process of claim 1 , wherein claim 1 , in step (c) claim 1 , the gel is subjected to a calcining process such that the ion-doped titanium dioxide has an anatase phase.3. A method for producing monosaccharides from algae includes (a) treating algae-containing water using an electrocoagulation device having an iron-based anode to induce flocculation of algae so as to obtain flocculated algae which have a trace amount of iron derived from the iron-based anode, (b) collecting the flocculated algae from the algae-containing water, and (c) subjecting the flocculated algae to an acid hydrolysis reaction in an acid solution to obtain monosaccharides. A liquid-to-solid ratio of a volume of the acid solution to a solid content of the flocculated algae is not less than 12 ml/g. The acid solution has an acid concentration not less than 3% by volume. 1. The present invention provides a method for extracting polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs), which comprises a pre-process step and an extraction step: removing water from waste sludge containing microorganisms in the pre-process step so that the waste sludge containing microorganisms has a water content of less than 40%; and applying a high-voltage pulsed electric field to the waste sludge during the extraction step to destroy the microorganisms and release the PHAs, wherein the high-voltage pulsed electric field is between 50 volts and 400 volts, an application time of the high-voltage pulsed electric field is between 5 seconds and 90 seconds, and an application frequency of the high-voltage pulsed electric field is between 500 Hz and 1000 Hz, thereby extracting the PHAs in the case of few chemicals. 1. A method of recovering polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) from municipal waste sludge includes: (a) measuring a solid content in the municipal waste sludge in terms of a volatile suspended solid in the municipal waste sludge; (b) removing supernatant from the municipal waste sludge; (c) freezing the municipal waste sludge; (d) conducting a pretreatment of the municipal waste sludge that has been frozen; (e) adding a surfactant into the pretreated sludge to obtain a slurry; (f) adding a controlled amount of sodium hypochlorite solution to the municipal waste sludge obtained in step (e), a ratio of a volume of the sodium hypochlorite solution to the solid content of the municipal waste sludge ranging from 0.67 mg/ml to 1.25 mg/ml and being defined as a liquid-solid ratio; and (g) separating PHAs from non-PHAs substances in the municipal waste sludge obtained in the step (f).

A polyhydroxyalkanoates extraction system comprises a pretreatment subsystem, an extraction subsystem and a recycling subsystem. The pretreatment subsystem comprises a fermentation device and an activation device so as to carry out a microorganism acclimation process. The extraction subsystem comprises a freezing device, a pretreatment device and an extraction device. The extraction subsystem is used for receiving a third sludge so that the third sludge is subjected to a freezing process, a pretreatment process, an extraction process and a purification process in the freezing device to form a polyhydroxyalkanoates mixture, and the extraction device performs a precipitation process to generate polyhydroxyalkanoates precipitate. The recycling subsystem comprises an aerobic sludge digestion device and a sequencing batch reactor activated sludge treatment device so as to carry out an aerobic sludge digestion process and a sequencing batch reactor activated sludge process.
