A server including a basic input output system (BIOS), a control unit and a plurality of central processing units (CPUs), and a booting method are provided. The BIOS outputs a booting signal. One of the CPUs receives the booting signal to execute a booting program, and outputs a successful signal after being booted. The control unit is coupled between the BIOS and the CPUs, and receives the successful signal to control a connection between the BIOS and the one of the CPUs. When the control unit receives the successful signal, the control unit replaces a connection between the BIOS and current one of the CPUs with a new connection between the BIOS and next one of the CPUs according to the successful signal, and the next CPU then receives the booting signal.

The present invention discloses a server and a booting method thereof. The booting method includes the following steps. A motherboard and a hard disk driver backplane coupled to multiple hard disk drivers are provided, and a working voltage is provided for the hard disk driver backplane, wherein a power-up normal signal is generated when the hard disk driver backplane is powered up normally, and the motherboard includes a booting control circuit and a controller. In response to the power-up condition of the hard disk driver backplane, the hooting control circuit receives the power-up normal signal and outputs a power-up control signal to the controller. When receiving the power-up control signal, the controller controls the motherboard to be booted or maintained as off by determining the condition of the power-up control signal, for the data exchange between the motherboard and the hard disk driver. 1. A server includes a power module, a detection circuit, a switching circuit, at least one first electric component and at least one second electric component. The power module supplies a standby voltage under a standby mode and supplies a working voltage under a working mode. The detection circuit receives a working mode signal of the server to output a control signal. The working mode signal specifies that the server is under the standby mode or the working mode. The switching circuit is supplied with the working voltage, the standby voltage and a converted control signal generated by converting the control signal, to transfer either the working voltage or the standby voltage. The first electric component works under the working mode only. The second electric component works under the standby mode and the working mode.
