A method of forming a three-dimensional object of polyurethane, polyurea, or copolymer thereof is carried out by: (a) providing a carrier and an optically transparent member having a build surface, the carrier and the build surface defining a build region therebetween; (b) filling the build region with a polymerizable liquid, the polymerizable liquid including at least one of: (i) a blocked or reactive blocked prepolymer, (ii) a blocked or reactive blocked diisocyanate, or (iii) a blocked or reactive blocked diisocyanate chain extender; (c) irradiating the build region with light through the optically transparent member to form a solid blocked polymer scaffold and advancing the carrier away from the build surface to form a three-dimensional intermediate having the same shape as, or a shape to be imparted to, the three-dimensional object, with the intermediate containing the chain extender; and then (d) heating or microwave irradiating the three-dimensional intermediate sufficiently to form from the three-dimensional intermediate the three-dimensional object of polyurethane, polyurea, or copolymer thereof.

These oligomers can be converted by hydrolysis to sulfonate-terminated vinyl alcohol oligomer which is also a surface-active agent. The number average molecular weight of the vinyl ester oligomer is not over 17,000 and not over 7,500 for the vinyl alcohol oligomer. These products are made by polymerizing the vinyl ester in the presence of a bisulfite chain transfer agent in water, preferably with a cosolvent such as methanol. The vinyl ester is delay fed to the polymerization, molecular weight is controlled with the bisulfite, and the system is maintained in a virtual single phase with any organic phase present swollen with water or water and cosolvent.

ABSTRACT The recovery of oil or gas from underground porous formations bearing such hydrocarbons is enhanced by using an injection fluid containing a viscosifying amount of a poly(vinylamine) formed in-situ by hydrolysis of a high molecular weight poly(N-vinylamide). The hydrolysis conditions are strongly acidic or highly alkaline and include the elevated temperature of the formation. The poly(N-vinylamide), such as poly(N-vinylformamide), can be made by inverse emulsion polymerization and the high solids emulsion mixed directly with the acidic or basic solutions to form the injection fluid. The process is applicable to enhanced oil recovery using fluids for water-flooding, well completion or workover, and acidifying or fracturing.

Polyvinylaminals, optionally as the formed copolymer with polyvinylhemiaminals and polyvinylacetals are useful as separating agents and are provided by reacting a poly(vinylamine) or a copolymer containing vinyl alcohol and vinylamine units wlth a monoaldehyde. The aldehyde, such as butyraldehyde, can be introduced into the polymer aminalization as a liquid or gas, generally in a proportion of about 0.02 to 0.5 mol per mol of alcohol and amine units in the polymer chain. These polymers, especially as the cationic salt, perform very well in the flocculation, settling, clarification and dewatering of wastewater.

This invention relates to an improved process for the formation of N-(1-alkoxyalkyl)amides with coproduction of alkylidene bisamides. The N-(1-alkoxyalkyl)formamides of this invention are prepared by reacting formamide with an acetal or hemiacetal carboxylate ester represented by the formulas: <IMAGE> I <IMAGE> II wherein R is C1-C8 alkyl, aralkyl or aryl; R1 and R2 are C1-C8 alkyl, or aryl; and R3 is secondary or tertiary alkyl having from 3-8 carbon atoms. The reaction is carried out in the presence of an acid catalyst such as a strong acid ion exchange resin.

This invention relates to improved crosslinking systems for polymeric dispersions and solutions having suitability for coatings, adhesives and use in many other applications. These systems are based upon crosslinkable polymers having a plurality of activated keto methylene groups, e.g., a beta diketone such as an acetoacetate or a keto cyano methylene functional groups and a crosslinkable component comprising an aldimine. A sufficient amount of the aldimine curing agent is used to effect reaction with the polymer containing the activated keto methylene groups and cure thereof. The improvement in the crosslinking system resides in the utilization of a monoaldimine having only one aldimine group and no other methylene reactive group as a crosslinking agent. Another improvement variation to that previously suggested comprises a redispersible polymer(s) containing activated methylene functionality and combined with the monoaldimine and the use of heterocyclic aldimine.

ABSTRACT A binder composition for nonwoven fabrics which comprises (a) a fugitive base salt of a phosphate ester surfactant or a carboxylate surfactant, (b) a latex comprising a vinyl acetate-ethylene-olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid interpolymer colloidally suspended in water, the interpolymer containing about 0.5 to 7.0 weight percent olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid and sufficient ethylene to provide the interpolymer with a glass transition temperature of from about -30 to +20°C, and (c) a polyvalent metal complex compound comprising a polyvalent metal ion and counter ions or ligands which hinder interaction of the poly-valent metal ion with the carboxylate and phosphate groups of the surfactant and interpolymer at room temperature, but at elevated temperature permit such interaction because the counter ions or ligands are expelled or are replaced by the anionic group of the surfactant and interpolymer. Nonwoven fabrics, particularly diaper innerliners, bonded with such binder compositions possess good dry and wet tensile strengths and good low rewet properties.

The invention relates to a drive device for a vehicle axle, in particular a rear axle (HA), of a two-track vehicle. The vehicle axle (HA) has an axle differential (3) which can be connected to a primary drive machine on the input side and to vehicle wheels (9) of the vehicle axle (HA) on the output side via flange shafts (5, 7) arranged on both sides. The vehicle axle (HA) is paired with an additional drive machine (26) and a shiftable superimposing transmission (25) that can be shifted into a torque distribution gear stage (TV) in which a drive torque generated by the additional drive machine (26) is generated, wherein the torque distribution to the two vehicle wheels (9) can be changed depending on the magnitude and the rotational direction of the drive torque, and into a hybrid mode in which the drive torque generated by the additional drive machine (26) can be coupled into the two flange shafts (5, 7) of the vehicle wheels (9) in a uniformly distributed manner via the axle differential (3). According to the invention, the superimposing transmission (25) has three planetary transmissions (PG1, PG2, PG3) which are coupled together. When a torque distribution gear stage (TV) or a first hybrid gear stage (H1) is engaged, a load path in which all three planetary transmissions (PG1, PG2, PG3) are incorporated is formed in the superimposing transmission (25). When a second hybrid gear stage (H2) is engaged, a load path in which precisely only one (PG1) of the planetary transmissions is incorporated or in which precisely only two (PG3, PG1) of the planetary transmissions are incorporated is formed in the superimposing transmission (25).
