A method for determining the diffusion radius of in-situ injection and remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater. According to the triangle method, the hole spacing is perpendicular to the groundwater flow direction, the row spacing is along the groundwater flow direction, and the flow diffusion in the groundwater during the effective time of the remediation agent reaction is considered. Under high pressure rotary injection, the remediation agent and a certain proportion of bromide ions are simultaneously injected into the aquifer as a tracer. A method and an apparatus for scheduling transmissions of a plurality of cells in a wireless communications system including one or more base stations is provided. The method comprises providing a set of virtual channels to enable an intra-cell transmission orthogonal to another transmission within each cell of the plurality of cells and inter-cell transmissions orthogonal to other transmissions across a cluster of cells associated with the one or more base stations. The method further comprises exchanging signaling messages between two or more base stations to coordinate scheduling of the intra-cell transmission with the inter-cell transmissions for the cluster of cells. For optimizing a parameter associated with scheduling of a plurality of users from a cluster of cells in a wireless communication system, an optimal power level for the parameter of each active user may be searched to maximize an indication of system capacity of the wireless communication system. This enables a coordinated jointly scheduling of the users active in the cluster of cells based on the optimal power levels such that the total interference within the cluster may be minimized to maximize the system throughput/capacity.

The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for a wireless communication between at least one mobile station and a base station in a cellular system. The method comprises providing a desired spreading in time and frequency domains to transmit data using at least two carriers in a transmission on an uplink to the base station. Either the base station may provide an indication to the mobile station to enable the desired spreading, or alternatively, the mobile station may request it. A spread-spectrum cellular system may enable a mobile station to provide a two-dimensional spreading, which distributes spreading in time and frequency directions. A single two-dimensional spreading code or at least two one-dimensional spreading codes may provide a two-dimensional spreading. In this way, in an uplink transmission using a multi-carrier, code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) protocol, by varying the data portions being spread in time and frequency domains a joint spreading may result. The joint spreading may distribute spreading codes in the time and frequency directions to distribute the spreading in a transmission. When using the MC-CDMA protocol, a mobile station may select one or more spreading formats in an uplink transmission that may increase the success rate of the packet transmission. Moreover, use of a particular spreading format in a flexible manner may reduce the packet delay and suppress intra-cell interference.

By selectively assigning a set of mobile stations to the orthogonal or non-orthogonal modes of transmission, the serving base station may enable fairness across the mobile stations.

In a spread spectrum cellular system, a base station sector may assign some transmission slots for a non-orthogonal transmission and other transmission slots for an orthogonal transmission to at least one mobile station, for example, in an uplink transmission. At the same time, for example, a base station sector may assign both modes to different mobile stations during the same time slot. By selectively using time and frequency or code division multiplexing, the mobile station may reduce interference, or alternatively, introduce minimal interference associated with multiple mobile stations transmitting data simultaneously at a base station sector. The reduced interference may enhance aggregate throughput of the uplink.

The support structure can better overcome insufficient bearing capacity of a soft foundation, and provide a stable foundation for the upper portion of the structure.
