Polymer b) har ammonium- fosfonium- eller sulfonium-grupper i polymerkjeden(e) og omfatter et polydentat anionisk kompleks som har et redoks- potensiale som er tilstrekkelig til å muliggjøre oksydativ polymerisering av de aromatiske forbindelser. Polymer b) er i form av fine partikler som har en gjennomsnittlig størrelse på 5 nm til l mm. Polymer b) kan fremstilles in situ. Det oppnås et polymermateriale som inneholder den elektrisk ledende aromatiske polymer og den reduserte form av en polymer b). Det elektrisk ledende polymermateriale har en partikkel- sterrelse på 5 nm til l mm. Nevnte polymer b), som har et ikke-metallisk anionisk kompleks, f.eks. S2O82~, er ny.
