The process comprises contacting a feed comprising the oxygenated hydrocarbon compounds from biological origin and an amount of sulphur with a fluid cracking catalyst at a temperature of equal to or more than 400° C. to produce a products stream. The process further comprises separating fluid cracking catalyst from the products stream and separating a light fraction from the products stream; and removing hydrogen sulphide from the light fraction by means of an amine treating process. Activated carbon is used to treat at least part of an amine solution used in the amine treating process or to treat at least part of the feed to the amine treating process. 1. A fuel cluster for a reactor core comprises a number of long fuel rods held between upper and lower anchor plates and having spacers at intervals; the upper end of each rod has an extension shaft, of a diameter smaller than that of the rod itself and varying according to the degree of enrichment of the fuel constituting the rod; the upper anchor plate contains cavities or passages, all of the same diameter, to restain the upper ends of the fuel rods; into these cavities, cylindrical plugs, of varying diameter according to the intended fuel rod for the particular location, are inserted. Pref., the extension shafts of fuel rods of high enrichment have a larger diameter than those of low enrichment, so that when the plugs are accordingly located, it is impossible for a high-enrichment rod to be inserted in the location intended for a low-enrichment rod. When drawing up a schedule of new fuel clusters for recharging a reactor, the final decision can be left to a fairly late date for the assembly required, in regard to enrichment, for each fuel cluster; it is then only necessary to arrange the variable diameter plugs in their appropriate locations to enable the cluster to be assembled. No special upper plates are required, since all can be of the same design.

The alloy forms two precipitation phases during heat treatment and age hardening: a beta phase of Mg2Si and an S' phase of Al2CuMg. The alloy has improved formability without significant sacrifice of strength, and is particularly suited to be formed into automobile sheet metal parts such as hood lids, trunks lids, and fenders.

A process is described for producing an aluminum alloy sheet having excellent bendability for use in forming panels for automobiles. The heat treated sheet is quenched to a temperature of about 60 1200C and the sheet is then coiled and cooled to room temperature.

A spray nozzle 300 includes a nozzle body 310, a swirl element 314 and an orifice disc 312. The nozzle body defines a central bore which extends between a fluid receiving section and a fluid discharge section and includes an interior locating surface 322 for the swirl element and the orifice disc. To ensure that the swirl element and orifice disk can be easily replaced once the adapter 318 is unscrewed from the nozzle, the nozzle is provided with a removable locking plate 332, including a captured peripheral O-ring 342, which can be inserted into the upstream end of the nozzle bore and locked in place by the captured O-ring 342 engaging with shallow ring recess 360 to thereby hold the swirl element and orifice disk in correct position and compress the sealing gasket 311 to the desired degree, before the nozzle is reassembled to the adaptor 318. In an alternative embodiment the locking plate takes the form of a bar-shaped element which can be rotated to engage with opposite bayonet type recesses in the inner surface of the nozzle bore and hold the swirl element and orifice disk in place.

This is especially applicable to examination of biological samples, e.g. blood or serum. The electrode is preferably platinum, and during the coating procedure and/or use may be surrounded with a permeable membrane (e.g. polymer, and especially a polycarbonate 0.03 to 0.05 νm thick). The properties of the coating may be controlled, e.g. by the applied voltage for the oxidation, and is usually 0.1 νm or less in thickness. One form of assembly uses such a coated electrode as anode, with a surrounding cathode and a membrane retaining an electrolyte, preferably buffered. The hydrogen peroxide may be present as such or produced by an enzyme system.

A process of producing an aluminum alloy sheet product suitable for forming into automotive parts and exhibiting reduced roping effects. The process involves producing an aluminum alloy sheet product by direct chill casting an aluminum alloy to form a cast ingot, homogenizing the ingot, hot rolling the ingot to form an intermediate gauge product, cold rolling the intermediate gauge product to form a product of final gauge, and subjecting the final gauge product to a solutionizing treatment by heating the product to a solutionizing temperature, followed by a pre-aging step involving cooling the product to a coiling temperature above 50 °C, coiling the cooled product at the coiling temperature, and cooling the coiled final gauge product from the coiling temperature above 50 °C to ambient temperature at a rate less than about 10 °C per hour to improve T8X temper characteristics of the product. Additionally, a batch anneal step is carried out on the intermediate gauge product or at an intermediate stage of the cold rolling to reduce or eliminate roping tendencies of the alloy sheet product. To maintain a high T8X response, the alloy used in the process has the following composition: 0.4 to 1.1 % by weight magnesium; 0.3 to 1.4 % by weight silicon; 0 to 1.0 % by weight copper; 0 to 0.4 % by weight iron; 0 to 0.15 % by weight manganese; 0 to 0.15 % weight naturally-occurring impurities (collective total); and the balance aluminum. The invention also relates to a sheet alloy product exhibiting reduced roping effects produced by the indicated process.

A process of producing an aluminum alloy sheet article having a reduced tendency to exhibit roping in products formed from those articles. The process involves the steps of direct chill casting a heat-treatable aluminum alloy, having a tendency to exhibit roping, to form a cast ingot, homogenizing the cast ingot, hot rolling the homogenized cast ingot, cold rolling the intermediate hot-rolled cast ingot to produce a sheet article of final gauge, and subjecting the sheet article of final gauge to a solutionizing step. Most importantly, the process includes a step, carried out during or after the cold rolling but before the solutionizing step, of subjecting the sheet article to a recovery anneal by heating the sheet article to a temperature in a range of 300 to 350 °C for 2 to 16 hours. The recovery anneal changes the crystallographic structure of the sheet article so that it has less tendency to exhibit roping when formed into product, e.g. automotive parts. The invention also relates to sheet articles produced by the process and formed products produced from the sheet articles.
