Organometallic treated molecular sieves and the use thereof for the conversion of oxygenates to olefins

Номер: WO2003084660A3

A method for making an organometallic treated molecular sieve is described in which a molecular sieve having at least one hydroxyl group and at least [A102] and [P02] tetrahedral units and having an average pore dimension less than or equal to about 5A is contacted with a solution comprising an organometallic compound and a non-proton donating solvent. The resulting organometallic treated molecular sieve has enhanced ethylene and/or propylene selectivity when used in the conversion of organic oxygenates to olefins. The ethylene and/or propylene selectivity, as well as catalyst life, are further enhanced when the resulting organometallic treated molecular sieve is combined with an oxide of at least one metal selected from Groups 2, 3 and Group 4 of the Periodic Table.

Sonic cleaning device and method

Номер: US4461651A
Автор: Richard I. Hall

A sonic cleaning device and method for removing accumulated fine particles from surfaces such as in heat exchangers using sonic energy vibrations. In the invention, a gas is passed through a tube having internally corrugated walls and having the tube outlet end attached to the inlet end of an expanding horn. The gas flows past the corrugations at high velocity and produces high intensity sonic vibrations within the tube, and the vibrations are amplified by passage through the horn. The horn outlet is directed at a surface to be cleaned and the accumulated particles are fluidized by the sonic energy and removed from the surface by the flowing gas and/or by gravity.

The invention concerns a certain class of polymers, their production into films and applications for their use. These polymers have unique properties which make them particularly well suited for use in polymeric films. These films are very useful in applications requiring heat sealability, particularly those applications containing an ionomer film. It has been discovered that polymers derived from metallocene catalyst systems surprisingly heat seal extremely well, as compared to polymer produced by conventional Ziegler-Natta catalysts, to a class of polymers known as ionomers.

Polycrystalline diamond body with enhanced surface irregularities and methods of making the same

Номер: EP0133386A3
Автор: David Richard Hall
Принадлежит: Megadiamond Industries Inc

A polycrystalline diamond body with a plurality of faces having enhanced surface irregularities over at least a portion of at least one of the faces is disclosed. The polycrystalline dia mond body with the enhanced surface irregularities attaches to other materials such as metal by conventional mounting tech niques. The polycrystalline diamond bodies of this invention are without a carbide or metal backing. The pattern forming the enhanced surface irregularities of this invention can be pre determined or random. Similarly the pattern can be randomly distributed on the surface or positioned in a repeatable pattern. It is therefore not necessary that the surface irregularities be uniform in either shape or size. One method of forming the en hanced irregularities is during the press cycle during which the polycrystalline diamond is formed with screens, molds, or free standing bodies. The extent, form and location of the enhanced surface irregularities is controlled by the configuration of the screens, molds or free standing bodies. An alternative method to form enhanced surface irregularities in a polycrystalline dia mond involves the use of an EDM machine, laser or other suit able techniques to form the anhanced irregularities after the polycrystalline diamond has been formed.
