Disclosed herein is a process for making 1,2,4-trivinylcyclohexane that is enriched in a particular geometric isomer. The process involves the thermal isomerization of 1,5,9-cyclododecatriene at temperature between 400° C. and 600° C. followed by an equilibration of the resultant intermediate in either the gas phase or liquid phase at temperature between 180° C. and 375° C. and at pressures ranging from 0.101 kPa to 1.013 kPa. Also disclosed are 1,2,4-trivinylcyclohexane compositions that are enriched in a particular geometric isomer. 1. A process for preparing a 1 ,2 ,4-trivinylcyclohexane composition enriched in Isomer A , the lowest boiling geometric isomer of 1 ,2 ,4-trivinylcyclohexane , comprising:(i) heating 1,5,9-cyclododecatriene at a temperature of from about 400° C. to about 600° C. and at a pressure of from about 1 mbar to about 1.2 bar thereby forming a 1,2,4-trivinylcyclohexane composition containing low levels of Isomer A;(ii) equilibrating the composition from step (i) in a vapor phase or a liquid phase at a temperature ranging from about 180° C. to about 375° C. and at a pressure ranging from about 1 mbar to about 10 bar to produce a 1,2,4-trivinylcyclohexane composition enriched in Isomer A as compared to the composition of step (i).2. Preferably, the silanes of the present invention contain assemblies of a single unit of a hydrolyzable silane group, tethered to one end of a chain of sulfur atoms, and several of these assemblies are bound to a common central hydrophobic core via the other end of the sulfur atoms chain. The hydrocarbon core polysulfide silanes may be incorporated into filled elastomeric compositions providing improved dispersiblity of the filler materials. Mineral fillers may be pre-treated with the hydrocarbon core polysulfide silanes prior to use in elastomeric compositions.

A crosslinked polysulfide-containing cycloaliphatic compound, useful as a crosslinker for filled sulfur-vulcanizable elastomer compositions, is represented by the general formula: [(C a H 2a -) m G 1 (-C b H 2b S x -) n-m and C c H 2c -G 2 - C d H 2d S y - ] p [R]q wherein G 1 is a saturated, monocyclic aliphatic group of valence n containing from 5 to 12 carbon atoms and optionally containing at least one halogen or a saturated monocyclic silicone [RSiO-] n [R 2 SiO-] r group of valence n; G 2 is a saturated, divalent cyclic aliphatic group of valence 2 containing from S to 12 carbon atoms and optionally containing at least one halogen or a saturated monocyclic silicone [RSiO-] n [R 2 SiO-] r group of valence n;; each R independently is a selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, monovalent hydrocarbon of up to 20 carbon atoms and a halogen atom; each occurrence of subscripts a, b, c, d, m, n, o, p, q, x and y independently is an integer wherein a is 2 to 6; b is 2 to 6; c is 1 to 6; d is 1 to 6; m is 1 or 2; n is 3 to 5; o is a positive integer, p is 0 or a positive integer; q is a positive integer; r is an integer of from 0 to 3; x is 1 to 10 and y is 1 to 10, with the provisos that, (i) at least one x is 2 to 10; (ii) the ratio of p to o is less than 1 to 5; and q is equal to the sum of unfilled valences of the (C a H 2a -) m G 1 (-C b H 2b S x -) n-m and C c H 2c -G 2 - C d H 2d S y - groups.

A moisture-curable resin composition comprising (a) a moisture-curable polymer having at least one hydrolysable silyl group; (b) a reactive modifier; (c) a catalyst for catalyzing the reaction between the moisture-curable polymer (a) and reactive modifier (b) under curing conditions; and optionally, the composition can contain one or more conventional components, including pigments, fillers, curing catalysts, dyes, plasticizers, thickeners, coupling agents, extenders, volatile organic solvents, wetting agents, tackifiers, crosslinking agents, thermoplastic polymers, ultraviolet stabilizers, and combination thereof. The moisture-curable resin composition is useful in the production of adhesives including hot melt adhesives, primers, sealants and coatings.
