A machine and method for producing beverage container holders of consistently high quality at high production rates and at an economical cost is disclosed herein. Beverage container holders (500) can be produced on the machine using the method disclosed herein at a rate of 50,000 beverage container holders per hour. The initial step of introducing the blanks 810) into the machine's conveying mechanism assures that the the blanks are properly aligned and have a predetermined spacing there between, which avoids jamming of the machine and the resulting work stoppage (Fig. 2). A container (12) and a sleeve (10) for a container are disclosed that employ unique air channels to divert heat from a hot beverage via hot air escaping upward and downward. The surface of the container and sleeve include raised images, depressed images (22), or a combination of both which are generally aligned in substantially vertical columns. The space between the columns (26) defines the air channels. The air channels are substantially uninterrupted and facilitate the upward and downward escape of hot air. The images are applied, such as by embossing and/or debossing, which facilitates manufacturing material efficiency and therefore reduces material costs and environmental waste. FLATBREAD CONTAINER

A container is disclosed for packaging flatbread, a flatbread sandwich or other food item. The container is made from a single, flat piece of paperboard having four sides and a pair of perforated lines formed therein running between two first sides and generally in the middle of the paperboard. The perforated lines come together at end portions thereof to meet at edges of the first sides to facilitate folding the flat paperboard in half along the perforated lines to close the container around a food item placed therein. Scored lines are formed spaced from the first and second sides to facilitate folding to form end and top portions of the container. Diagonal slots may be formed in corners of the flat paperboard that define hook structures capable of mutual engagement for securing closed the second sides around the food item.

DISPOSABLE SINGLE USE BEVERAGE PACKAGE

A disposable single use beverage package is disclosed. The package may include an impermeable barrier surrounding a permeable single walled basket. The permeable basket may include a frame and a filter. The permeable basket may also include a lid. Beverage container holders (500) can be produced on the machine using the method disclosed herein at a rate of 50,000 beverage container holders per hour. Packaging containers (e.g., cups) or protective wraps may be made with two layers of sheet material and an expanded thermal insulation between the layers. The thermal insulation may be made from microencapsulated, heat-expandable particles that are expanded with a microwave heater at some point during processing substrate, building, conveying or packaging the containers. The particles may be applied to blanks formed from die cutting, expanded by heating, and then tampered. The blanks may be outer wraps to a double wall cup, formed by placing and adhering an inner cup to the outer wrap. Alternatively, an adhesive containing the particles are applied to inner cups, which may be adhered to outer wraps to complete formation of the double wall cups.
