The invention relates to a method for washing clothes by means of air, comprising the following steps: the clothes waiting for washing are put into a relatively closed washing space; hot air is inputted in the washing space; the clothes is made to fully contact the inputted hot air; the hot air after fully contacting the clothes are conducted into a condensing space; condensed water generated in the condensing space are exhausted. A washing machine realizing the method comprises a washing machine roller and a drainage pump and also comprises a heating air supply system and a condenser system, wherein, an air outlet of the heating air supply system is led to the inside of the washing machine roller; the condenser system receives an opening of hot air after cleaning and is communicated with the inside of the washing machine roller; an outlet of the condenser system is connected with the drainage pump.
