The present invention relates to a method for preparing a superabsorbent polymer, and more particularly, to a method for preparing a highly absorbent polymer, comprising a step of spraying a monomer composition onto a substrate having a hydrophobic surface with a specific tan angle and performing UV polymerization in a polymerization reactor having a weakly hydrophilic surface. The method of the present invention is advantageous in that an existing monomer solution in the form of a sheet is converted into the form of particles so as to enable UV irradiation up to a deep layer, thus improving the conversion into polymers. Further, the control of the particles of prepared polymers can be easily performed in order to minimize or simplify a recirculation process, narrow the particle-size distribution, and improve uniformity, thus providing a high-quality superabsorbent polymer.
