The present invention relates to a catalyst for eliminating acidic components in highly acidic crude oil by means of a reaction, and to a production method therefor. Highly acidic crude oil contains many acidic components which cause process corrosion, and such acidic components are eliminated by means of a decarboxylation reaction. Examples of catalysts used for decarboxylation reactions in the prior art include alkaline earth metal oxides and hydrates, but these catalysts give rise to a secondary problem in that they enter solution in the form of naphthene salts in the crude oil in the catalytic reaction environment. The present invention provides a decarboxylation catalyst in the form of an alkaline earth metal cation or transition metal cation coupled with a silicate or aluminate or other such anion. This catalyst is stable even in acidic environments, and at the same time it exhibits outstanding decarboxylation activity.
