The present invention relates to a hard coating, which is formed on a base material made of a cemented carbide for a cutting tool, comprises a TiCN layer and an α-Al2O3 thin film first grown in the (006) plane, and has excellent thin film peeling resistance against the impact occurring at the time of cutting processing, thereby greatly improving the lifetime of the cutting tool. The hard coating according to the present invention is formed with a thickness of 5-30 ㎛ on a base material comprising 7-15 wt% of Co, 0-5 wt% of a carbide or a carbonitride containing a Group 4, 5, or 6 element, and the balance WC and inevitable impurities.
