The present invention relates to a novel polycyclic fused ring derivative, an organic dye for a dye-sensitive solar cell including the same, and a dye-sensitive solar cell including the same. More particularly, a novel polycyclic fused ring derivative represented by chemical formula 1 or 2 has a polycyclic fused ring based chromophore consisting of multiple 5-membered ring, including a group 4 element, group 5 element, or group 6 element, and a benzene ring. Therefore, the novel polycyclic fused ring derivative has not only excellent efficiency of optical conversion but also long-term stability and thus can be used for an organic dye for a dye-sensitive solar cell with high efficiency which has increased long-term stability and energy conversion efficiency.
