... 본 발명은 한 슬롯(slot)을 복수 개의 패킷으로 분할하여 인코딩 또는 디코딩을 수행하는 디지털 방송 시스템에서 수신한 패킷에 대한 디코딩 방법에 있어서, 수신되는 각 패킷에 대한 신호 대 잡음비(Signal to Noise, SNR)를 측정하는 단계, 상기 한 슬롯에 해당하는 패킷 수신 시 상기 측정된 신호 대 잡음비의 크기에 따라 상기 패킷들의 디코딩 순서를 결정하는 단계 및 상기 결정된 순서에 따라 디코딩 수행 시 특정 패킷에 대한 디코딩이 조기 중단되면 이후에 디코딩될 패킷에 대한 디코딩 횟수를 증가시켜 디코딩하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 본 발명에 따르면, 채널 추정 성능이 높은 패킷에 대한 디코딩 횟수를 줄이고, 채널 추정 성능이 낮은 패킷에 대한 디코딩 횟수를 늘릴 수 있으므로 디지털 방송 시스템에서 수신된 패킷의 디코딩 성능을 향상시킬 수 있다.
