Устройство работает следующим образом: окислительная колонна, имеющая диаметр 0,7 м и высоту 7,0-10,0 м, заполняется маслом, нагретым до температуры 115-120°С. После завершения загрузки масла, включают воздуходувку 7 и начинают процесс окисления. По мере протекания окисления растет температура реакционной смеси. Включают насос-дозатор 3, подающий масло из емкости 2 в нижнюю часть колонны 1 и насос-дозатор 8, отводящий масло из верхней части колонны 1 и возвращающий его обратно в емкость 2. Объем емкости 2 равен трем-четырем объемам окислительной колонны 1. Поскольку температура масла в емкости 2 значительно ниже, чем в окислительной колонне 1, то при смешении масел часть реакционного тепла затрачивается на нагрев поступившей партии масла и температура в окислительной колонне снижается. At the conclusion of the aerobic phase, the process yields a rough compost product that is stable and pathogen free. The rough compost can be further processed and blended to create high value engineered soils.

The product alcohol can be separated from the absorption liquid whereby the absorption liquid is regenerated. The absorption liquid can include a water soluble organic molecule such as an amine.

Methane reacts with steam generating carbon monoxide and hydrogen in a first catalytic reactor; the resulting gas mixture undergoes Fischer-Tropsch synthesis in a second catalytic reactor. In the steam/methane reforming, the gas mixture passes through a narrow channel having mean and exit temperatures both in the range of 750° C. to 900° C., residence time less than 0.5 second, and the channel containing a catalyst, so that only reactions having comparatively rapid kinetics will occur. Heat is provided by combustion of methane in adjacent channels. The ratio of steam to methane may be about 1.5. Almost all methane will undergo the reforming reaction, almost entirely forming carbon monoxide. After Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, the remaining hydrogen may be fed back to the combustion channels. The steam for the reforming step may be generated from water generated by the chemical reactions, by condensing products from Fischer-Tropsch synthesis and by condensing water vapor generated in combustion.

Ethanol yield and reduction of biomass accumulation in the recombinant strain of saccharomyces cerevisiae overexpressing atpase

A new approach for increase of ethanol yield during alcoholic fermentation via decrease of biomass accumulation by using ATP degrading enzymes is described. The part of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae SSB1 gene coding for cytosolic ATPase domain of ribosome associated chaperon cloned into expression cassette under control of the glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase gene (GPD1) promoter was introduced into the S. cerevisiae BY4742 strain. The recombinant strains were tested for their ability to grow and produce ethanol during glucose anaerobic and aerobic cultivations. Strains overexpressing ATPase domain of SSB1 possessed decreased concentration of intracellular ATP. They accumulated elevated amounts of ethanol and were characterized by decreased biomass accumulation as compared to the wild-type strain under both anaerobic and aerobic conditions. Similarly, the apyrase gene apy from E. coH encoding ATP/ADP hydrolyzing phosphatase and ATPase domain of SSB1 gene of S. cerevisiae were co-expressed under the control of galactose-inducible GAL1 promoter. The recombinant S. cerevisiae strains revealed slight reduction of biomass accumulation, while specific ATPase activity, ethanol accumulation and yield during alcoholic galactose fermentation under semi anaerobic conditions were increased.

The two zeolites should have different physical and chemical characteristics, such as pore size and acidity. An exemplary catalyst includes mordenite, ZSM-5, and 3 wt. % molybdenum. The transalkylation reaction may be conducted in one or more reactors with a fixed bed, moving bed, or radial flow reactor at 200-540° C., a pressure of 1.0-5.0 MPa, and liquid hourly space velocity of 1.0-5.0 per hour.

In examples, the method further includes one or more steps of warming and expanding the gaseous second component fraction using at least one heat exchanger to exchange heat with a process stream and at least one turbo-expander capable of recovering mechanical work. The process described is highly energy efficient and is especially useful in hydrogen power plants, Integrated Gasification Combined Cycles (IGCC) and for sweetening sour natural gas.

High molecular weight (HMW) gases are separated from an exhaust gas of a combustion source using a blower and an interior vent within the exhaust stack. The interior vent includes a vent wall having a top portion attached to the interior surface of the exhaust stack along the entire inner perimeter of the exhaust stack and a lower portion that extends downward into the exhaust stack to form an annular space or gap between the vent wall and the interior surface of the exhaust stack, and at least one opening in the interior surface of the exhaust stack between the top and bottom portions of the vent wall. The blower creates a tangential flow of the exhaust gas with sufficient centrifugal force to concentrate substantially all of the HMW gases along the inner surface of the exhaust stack. A transfer pipe removes the HMW gases from the interior vent.

Reacting at a temperature of 120-300° C. and a hydrogen pressure of 1-13 MPa under hydrothermal conditions to accomplish one-step catalytic conversion. It realizes efficient, highly selective, high yield preparation of ethylene glycol and propylene glycol from polyhydroxy compounds. The advantage of processes disclosed in this invention include renewable raw material and high atom economy. At the same time, compared with other technologies that converts biomass raw materials into polyols, methods disclosed herein enjoy advantages including simple reaction process, high yield of targeted products, as well as easy preparation and low cost for the catalysts.

The process includes: forming a residual wastewater stream from food waste using digesters; coarse filtering the residual wastewater stream; acid treating the filtered, residual wastewater stream so that ammonium is retained therein; diverting the acid treated, filtered, residual wastewater stream to one side of at least one forward osmosis membrane; and concentrating the acid treated, filtered, residual wastewater stream to form fertilizer by contacting a saturated salt brine in a forward osmosis draw loop to an opposite side of the at least one forward osmosis membrane and osmotically pulling water across the at least one forward osmosis membrane from the acid treated, filtered, residual wastewater stream to the saturated salt brine, thereby diluting the saturated salt brine.

The processes disclosed advantageously integrate diethyl carbonate and diaryl carbonate production, eliminating the need for solvent-based extractive distillation, as is commonly required when producing diaryl carbonates from dimethyl carbonate, providing for the integration of separation equipment and raw material usage, and reducing the operating and capital requirements for such processes. In some embodiments, processes disclosed herein may be operated essentially closed-loop with respect to ethanol usage, for example.
