A method of producing an aspherical optical element comprising a light transmissive glass substrate having an irregular surface finish with a profile which follows in part a desired aspherical profile and a coating of a light transmissive polymeric material thereon. The glass substrate 2 is first prepared with the part aspherical profile 3 for example by casting, machining or grinding and then the substrate is supported in a mould tool in close proximity to an optically polished surface of a negative profile of the desired aspherical profile. The region between the facing surfaces of the glass substrate and mould is filled with the polymeric material 1 and the polymeric material is bonded to the surface of the glass substrate. Thereafter the topical element thus formed is released from the mould tool. The surface of the glass substrate may be produced in the first process stage by mass production methods using automatically controlled machine tools. The surface may have a tolerance defect ...

Disclosed is an invention that aims to accurately position a lens barrel and an optical lens and form a plastic lens easily with a high-precision forming mold. A plastic lens is formed by filling resin into a cavity surrounded by a fixed mold, a movable mold, and inserts, which are removably incorporated into respective molds. A lens portion and conical surfaces of the plastic lens are formed with the inserts. This provides enhanced forming accuracy by making the conical surfaces and lens portion concentric with each other. When the plastic lens is to be incorporated into the lens barrel, the conical surface of the plastic lens is allowed to be in line contact with the vertical inner circumferential surface of the lens barrel to make the plastic lens concentric with the lens barrel for the purpose of accurate positioning.

Low cost window production for hermetically sealed optical packages

Номер: US20120036695A1
Принадлежит: Texas Instruments Inc

Disclosed embodiments demonstrate batch processing methods for producing optical windows for microdevices. The windows protect the active elements of the microdevice from contaminants, while allowing light to pass into and out of the hermetically sealed microdevice package. Windows may be batch produced, reducing the cost of production, by fusing multiple metal frames to a single sheet of glass. In order to allow windows to be welded atop packages, disclosed embodiments keep a lip of metal without any glass after the metal frames are fused to the sheet of glass. Several techniques may accomplish this goal, including grinding grooves in the glass to provide a gap that prevents fusion of the glass to the metal frames along the outside edges in order to form a lip. The disclosed batch processing techniques may allow for more efficient window production, taking advantage of the economy of scale.

Method and system for producing liquid crystal panel

Номер: US20130070194A1
Принадлежит: Nitto Denko Corp

An object of the invention is to provide a method and a system for manufacturing a liquid crystal panel, which allow more successful bonding of an optical film to a liquid crystal cell. A pressing force Fa per unit area applied when the optical film is pressed by the first roller and a pressing force Fb per unit area applied when the liquid crystal cell is pressed by the second roller satisfy the relation Fa>Fb. On the first roller side, the feed may fail to be stabilized due to the influence of tension fluctuations or vibration acting on the first optical film, so that air bubbles may occur. When the second roller side, where such an influence does not occur, contributes more to the feed of the liquid crystal cell, the liquid crystal cell can be successfully fed in the process of bonding the optical film thereto.

A wafer lens member producing method includes post-curing lens portions made of a light-curing resin formed on at least one face of a substrate so as to promote curing of the light-curing resin. The post-curing includes first post-curing and second post-curing. The first post-curing performs heating at a first post-curing temperature, which is a glass transition temperature of the light-curing resin to the glass transition temperature+100° C., for 30 minutes to two hours. The second post-curing performs heating at a second post-curing temperature, which is lower than the glass transition temperature, and lower than the first post-curing temperature by 25° C. or more, for three hours to six hours.
