A security lock secures a locking assembly to a stopping member. A bolt extends in a longitudinal direction from a housing into the stopping member. When the bolt is extended, a set of first latching members extends laterally from the bolt and abuts a front face of the housing. A force applied to the end of the bolt is transferred through first latching members to the housing rather than to the mechanism within the locking assembly. A set of second latching members extend laterally into engagement with an interior surface of the stopping member to transfer part of the longitudinal force to the stopping member. The wedge bar is supported vertically by a plurality of hangers which reside within the openings in the body flange. Each hanger includes a radial flange and a cylindrical sleeve depending therefrom. The sleeve has two diametrically opposite vertical slots which receive the wedge bar and permit the wedge bar to move along its longitudinal axis for locking and unlocking the mechanism. The slots terminate at their lower ends at support surfaces on which the wedge bar rests. The hangers thereby support the wedge bar, and also act as grommets providing passageways for the pull-down studs.

The automatic assembler is used for assembling especially a safety lock which has a rotating unit into which radial pins are inserted. The pins slide as pistons in the radial bores which have springs. The code of an associated key is read by the sensor and electric pulses corresponding to key notches are transmitted to the electronic computer which which in turn controls the assembling process sequences. The key code reader actuates the computer which adjusts the lock rotating unit on supports. Subsequently the pins and springs are distributed from trays through tubes and distributor units for insertion into radial holes. The automatic assembler can be linked with the machines which press and cut keys for rapid production of locks. Key notches are sensed by levers which close or open light beams between a light source and a block of photoelectric cells.
