It has been discovered that amorphous polybutene copolymers that have a softening point of from about 70 to about 105° C. and viscosity of less than about 1,900 cP at 190° C. possesses desirable properties and may be used to make a low application temperature hot melt adhesive for disposable absorbent articles. 1. Water-Stable, Oil-Modified, Nonreactive Alkyd Resin Construction Adhesives, and Use Thereof

Disclosed herein is a new use for water-stable, oil-modified, nonreactive alkyd resins. It has now been found that such resins can be used as the predominant component of a construction adhesive employed in the manufacture of disposable absorbent articles, for example. As such, the construction adhesive need not employ plasticizers, tackifiers, and conventional polymers required by hot-melt adhesives typically used as construction adhesives. Furthermore, in the manufacture of disposable absorbent articles, the construction adhesive containing a water-stable, oil-modified, nonreactive, alkyd resin does not need to be processed or applied at the high temperatures required of construction adhesives containing reactive alkyds. 1. A construction adhesive composition comprising:(a) at least about 65 wt. % of a water-stable, oil-modified, nonreactive alkyd resin; and,(b) about 0.01 wt. % to about 35 wt. % of one of (i) a polymer selected from the group consisting of polyhydroxyalkanoates, polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate, maleated polyethylene, maleated polypropylene, polylactic acid, modified polypropylene, nylon, caprolactone, and combinations thereof; and, (ii) a processing aid selected from the group consisting of talc, clay, pulp, flour, walnut shells, cellulose, cotton, jute, raffia, rice chaff, animal bristles, chitin, granular starch, diatomaceous earth, carbon fibers, kenaf, magnesium stearate, fatty acid amides, metal salts of fatty acids, wax acid esters and their soaps, montan wax acids, esters and their soaps, polyolefin waxes, non polar polyolefin waxes, natural and synthetic paraffin waxes, fluoro polymers, silicon, diatomaceous earth, and combinations thereof.2. An adhesive composition comprising a solids component, said solids component including a rubber component that includes polychloroprene; and a solvent component, said solvent component including t-butyl acetate. 1. An adhesive composition comprising:i. a solids component, said solids component including a rubber component that includes polychloroprene; andii. a solvent component, where the solvent component includes from 150 to 500 parts by weight t-butyl acetate, from 50 to 300 parts by weight acetone, from 5 to 100 parts by weight methyl acetate, and where the solvent component further includes 5 to 300 parts by weight toluene per 100 parts by weight rubber.2. The composition of claim 1 , where the solvent component includes from 285 to 310 parts by weight t-butyl acetate claim 1 , from 170 to 190 parts by weight acetone claim 1 , and from 15 to 25 parts by weight methyl acetate claim 1 , per 100 parts by weight rubber.3. The composition of where the solvent component further includes 35 to 45 parts by weight toluene per 100 parts by weight rubber.4. The composition of claim 1 , where the rubber component further includes poly-(styrene-co-butadiene).5. The composition of claim 1 , where the rubber component is devoid of a complementary rubber claim 1 , and where the solids component includes an adhesion promoter.6. The invention provides adhesives and methods of using the adhesives to bond substrates together, and to articles of manufacture comprising the adhesives. An object of the present invention is to provide an adhesion improver for a carbon fiber-reinforced polyolefin-based resin composition that provides improved mechanical characteristics such as bending strength and bending elastic modulus. The adhesion improver is used for a carbon fiber-reinforced resin composition including carbon fibers and a polyolefin-based resin. The adhesion improver includes an acid-modified polyolefin-based resin unit and an epoxy resin unit. The acid-modified polyolefin-based resin unit and the epoxy resin unit are linked via an ester structure, and the epoxy resin unit includes a secondary hydroxy group. 1. An adhesion improver for use in a carbon fiber-reinforced resin composition including carbon fibers and a polyolefin-based resin , the adhesion improver comprising:an acid-modified polyolefin-based resin unit; andan epoxy resin unit, the acid-modified polyolefin-based resin unit and the epoxy resin unit being linked via an ester structure, whereinthe epoxy resin unit includes a secondary hydroxy group.2. The adhesion improver according to claim 1 ,wherein the melt viscosity at 170° C. is 50 to 1,500 Pa·s.3. The adhesion improver according to claim 1 ,wherein the acid-modified polyolefin-based resin unit is an acid-modified polypropylene-based resin unit.4. A method for manufacturing the adhesion improver according to claim 1 , the method comprising: using claim 1 , as raw materials claim 1 , an acid-modified polyolefin-based resin having an acid equivalent of 500 to 200 claim 1 ,000 g/eq. and an epoxy resin claim 1 , allowing the acid-modified polyolefin-based resin to react with the epoxy resin in the presence of a catalyst at 150° C. to 250° C.5. A hot melt adhesive composition comprises a polymer blend based on a first polymer component having a low melting point and is selected from a polypropylene homopolymer and a copolymer of propylene and ethylene and mixtures thereof; a second polymer component comprising an amorphous polyolefin; and about 30% to about 75% by weight of a tackifying resin. The hot melt adhesive composition may be dually functional, serving as an elastic component adhesive and a construction adhesive. 1.
