The inner blade may comprise layers 12 of rubber held in a metal frame and covered by a strip of absorbent cotton fabric clamped in place by clips 14. Other absorbent materials are rubber sponge, wash leather or other textile materials. The blades 5, 11 are oscillated by a motor 1 through the medium of a connecting rod 4 and a wiper blade 3. The blade 11 may be connected to the spindle 10 whereby it may be disconnected when not required and held in a position outside the line of vision.

It provides a rapid demisting control for the vehicle, and there is a time delay friction clutch, so that it only operates for a set number of wipes with the exterior wipers. The demisting action can be enhanced by jets of warmed air spaced along the hollow support for the interior wiper. The blade can be replaced by a pattern of elastic rollers to prevent scratching the glass and to position the jets directly over the windscreen.

An automobile windshield wiper restorer may take the form of a hand held device that offers a compound curvilinear rectangular three sided resurfacing channel and a flat bottom rectangular three sided resurfacing channel, with both channels coated with abrasive materials on all three sides. The flat bottom channel may have a coarse grit and the compound curvilinear channel may have a fine grit. Water or a wiper solution may be used while moving a wiper through the device. Drawing or swiping the entire length of a windshield wiper blade multiple times back and forth, while wet, through the appropriate support and honing channels removes surface contaminants and imperfections uniformly, thereby restoring the wiper blade to its original functionality.

A windscreen wiper device is provided including a longitudinally extending wiper strip of a flexible material. At least one carrier of a spring-like material operatively supports and biases the wiper strip into a predetermined configuration. The flexible material is formed of flexible material, such as rubber, with a friction reducing agent consisting of at least one amide distributed homogeneously throughout the flexible material. Upon vulcanization, a portion of the friction reducing agent migrates to an outer surface of the flexible material to form a friction reducing film having hydrophobic properties. The friction reducing film provides a low friction interface between the flexible material and a windshield under wet and dry conditions. The low friction minimizes the load on the wiper device and thus extends the life of the wiper device. 1. A windscreen wiper device , comprising:a longitudinally extending wiper strip of a flexible material, wherein at least a portion of said flexible material includes a friction reducing agent, and the friction reducing agent includes at least one amide.2.
