The invention relates to a valve for a compartmentalized tube or tyre, including a number of ducts for passing and increased sealing. It therefore has one end for coupling to an inflation/deflation system; another end in contact with the rim; a flow channel between both, with opening by means of a cover solidly joined to a mobile rod. The valve has at least two cavities with connection means to the airtight compartments of the tube or tyre. One cavity is displaced solidly joined to the rod, allowing gas or liquid flow through the communication channel between the cavities when in the open position. The existence of friction surfaces are thereby eliminated, increasing the sealing, the maximum operating pressure and the useful life. Additionally, the number of items in contact with one another are reduced, allowing for a simpler manufacturing process by reducing the level of accuracy required for the components. 1. A tyre apparatus is provided, the apparatus including a tyre body for attachment to a wheel rim to define a first inflatable volume. An inner chamber defines a second inflatable volume which is located within the first inflatable volume of the tyre body. A first fluid communication path is provided between the first and second inflatable volumes and a second fluid communication path is provided between the first inflatable volume and the atmosphere. A first valve opens and closes the first fluid communication path, and a second valve opens and closes the second fluid communication path. The tensile strength and pressure-containing capacity of the material structure of the second inflatable volume is greater than that of the tyre first inflatable volume. A first fluid pressure within the first inflatable volume of the tyre body is optimisable by opening the first valve to allow pressure transfer from the second inflatable volume into the tyre body, and/or opening the second valve to allow pressure to vent from the tyre body to atmosphere. A vehicle wheel and active tyre pressure control system incorporating the tyre apparatus are also provided.

Pneumatic tyres are constructed with >=2 toroidal rubber tubes of similar or differing bore diam. and similar hoop diam. are positioned in a mould which permits a foamed rubber to be injected into the interstices between the tubes. The composite tubes/foam structure is enclosed by windings of rubberised cord in radial helical turns. The wound core is enclosed in a toroidal rubber sheath, opt. with a layer of reinforcing bandage between the core and sheath under the sub-tread and/or wheel rim faces. The sheathed core is then overmoulded or laminated to tread and rim face profiles. The internal tubes can be pressurised via either independent inlet valves or linked air supply system. Used for mfr. of hollow 'solid' tyres, ie. tyres without reinforced sidewalsl or rims and hence of simpler, cheaper construction than conventional crossply or radial ply reinforced tyres. The elastic bridges enhance the tyre stiffness against lateral distortion relative to easy radial distortion or compression, to provide a better combination of rolling comfort and roadholding when subject to lateral stresses during cornering.

The chambers 20 may each be inflated via a valve (not shown) in its wall 17 to a pressure higher than that of chamber 15. Alternatively, the chambers 20 may each contain a flexible cellular material. The carcass reinforcement may comprise a single ply of cord fabric 21 the edges of which may overlap or terminate as illustrated in Fig. 1, or may comprise two plies 21a, 21b (Fig. 3). The cords may be radial, or oblique with cords in adjacent plies crossing. The plies may be interrupted in the crown of the tyre. Further, reinforcing fabric strips 24, 25 may be provided. In the tyre of Fig. 3, the plies 21a, 21b may comprise metal and textile cords respectively in order that the inner walls 18 may be stiffer than walls 17. The differing stiffnesses may be achieved by a higher filament density or heavier filaments for the inner ply or a harder rubber for the inner ply. La présente invention concerne un dispositif pneumatique, destiné à équiper un véhicule à usage agricole. Elle a pour objectif de de proposer un dispositif pneumatique permettant de garantir une faible pression de contact au sol, en usage en champ, et ainsi de minimiser le compactage des sol. Selon l'invention, le dispositif pneumatique (1) est constitué par un assemblage circonférentiel de cellules (4) pressurisées indépendamment les unes des autres à une pression relative positive ou nulle et solidarisées deux à deux. Chaque cellule (4) a une forme hexaédrique, et comprend deux faces méridiennes (41, 42) respectivement liées à une face méridienne d'une cellule adjacente, une face radialement intérieure (43), destinée à coopérer avec la jante (3), et une face radialement extérieure (44), deux faces circonférentielles(45, 46), symétriques par rapport au plan équatorial (XZ) passant par le milieu de la surface de roulement (2) et perpendiculaire à l'axe de rotation (YY') du dispositif pneumatique (1).
