... 본 발명은 폐양극활물질로부터 망간화합물의 회수방법에 관한 것으로, 구체적으로 니켈(Ni), 코발트(Co), 망간(Mn) 및 리튬(Li) 등을 포함하는 폐양극활물질분말로부터 망간을 제외한 니켈(Ni), 코발트(Co), 및 리튬(Li)을 선택적으로 침출하고 침출 잔사에 포함된 망간을 산침출법, 용매추출법, 열처리법을 이용하여 황산망간, 탄산망간, 망간산화물 형태의 망간화합물을 고순도로 간단하고 용이하게 분리회수하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에서는 종래의 망간 회수를 위한 방법과 달리, 망간의 선행분리가 필요하지 않으므로 코발트와 니켈을 분리하여 회수하는 공정이 단순화되고, 망간을 회수하기 위해 사용되는 중화제의 비용이 절약되어 제조원가를 절감할 수 있는 이점이 있다. 또한, 침출 잔사로부터 망간을 회수하기 위해 용매추출 공정을 적용할 경우, 기존공정 보다 2단 이하의 축소된 공정으로 고순도 망간을 회수할 수 있으므로 망간의 제조원가도 절감할 수 있다.
