An apparatus and method for detecting an object with radar and a camera are disclosed. The apparatus for detecting an object according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a radar data receiving unit for receiving radar information obtained based on a detection area set in the radar; a camera image receiving unit for receiving image information obtained by photographing the object which exists in a detection area using the camera; a processing unit for extracting object information by analyzing the radar information and the image information; a registration unit for registering each object information extracted by analyzing the radar information and the image information based on coordinates information and time information; and an interface unit for monitoring the object information on the object based on the registered object information.
