Existing RFID reading mechanisms do not have the provision of detecting cross reads and eliminating the cross reads while performing inventory of an area. As a result, the user will have to manually determine the cross reads from the data and eliminate them. The disclosed method employs a RFID reader that is equipped with a plurality of engines for performing scan on the inventories. The scanned data is processed by a processing unit. In the processing unit, normalization is performed on the scanned data, neighboring assets and spatial location maps are created. The data from the above processes is employed for detecting cross reads during the scan. The identified cross reads are eliminated based on various other parameters obtained by analyzing scanned data.

A mounting device removably couples a container security device (CSD) to the cargo container. Monitoring cargo inside the container and detecting vehicle intrusions and container damage, the CSD includes an anti-tamper sensor, a microcontroller, a communication device, and a plurality of accelerometers and strain gages. The microcontroller generates an alarm signal based on output data from the anti-tamper sensor and records container events. The anti-temper sensor undergoes individual and integrated sensor processing procedures; whereas, the integrated sensor processing procedure determines a container alert status. The accelerometers and strain gages define a moment of inertia of the cargo container. Communicating with a telecommunications network, a network operations center of the security system receives data from the CSD for storage and creating an archive of the container events. 1. An asset protection system uses a plurality of radiate and detect units to maintain a radio frequency field, or signal, in a monitored area. Each unit has a unique unit identifier code which it modulates onto its transmission of the field, and a zone where its transmission of the field will dominate. Assets have tags attached to them. The tags have a mechanism to attach them to the objects and have electronic components on board including a microprocessor, motion detector, radio frequency circuitry, audible alarm generator. A mobile phone connected to a fleet of radio transceiver chips that can be individually identified by the mobile station, which automatically are associated with a photo when the phone camera is used in proximity. The transceiver chips have a small loudspeaker, vibrator and/or light emitter for producing an alarm, and the transceiver chip also can determine and send back its location to the mobile phone. The mobile phone deduces its location by GPS or triangulation, and has an application which can be programmed to check the location of items given predetermined criteria are met, or upon user request. For example the mobile phone can be used to program luggage lists, and check whether everything is with the user at a time. The best mode involves typically a smartphone with relevant application software and RFID tags enhanced by light emitter, loudspeaker and/or vibrator and adhesive.

A device for monitoring and indicating when a flexible film has been tampered or penetrated by an unauthorized individual at a time of the tampering , comprising:a tamper indication device having a tamper indication film of less than 1 percent flexible stretchability attached thereto and connected within a circuit that generates a signal in response to a tamper event, said tamper indication device is incorporated with goods being shipped so as to cover said goods and protect the goods from being tampered anda transponder for receiving said signal which generates an output signal to a display or data collection device and transceiver.2. The device according to wherein said device is incorporated with goods being shipped on a pallet wherein said film covers said goods on said pallet.3. The device according to claim wherein said less than one percent stretchable flexible film is covered by stretch wrap claim 2 , shrink wrap claim 2 , banded or covered by a box or container to said goods in place.4. The methods involve: slidingly coupling a first engagement member ( 212 ) of the security tag to a first sidewall ( 208 ) forming a first right angle with a base ( 220 ) of an article; and extending a securement member ( 218 ) of the security tag across an exterior surface of the base of the article. A length of the securement member is then decreased so as to place the securement member in a tensioned position whereby the security tag is secured to the article.
