The door is typically attached at one end using a hinge mechanism and maintained in planar alignment with the doorframe by a controllable mechanism such as an electromagnetic shear lock. An activation switch, such as a push-bar switch, initiates a delayed egress sequence that disengages the shear lock by controlling an energizing current in a magnet. When the shear lock is disengaged, the door can swing on the hinged mechanism. The delayed egress sequence can include one or more delays prior to disengaging the shear lock. Override signals can inhibit or force disengagement of the shear lock.

A window for engagement with a building structure having a window opening, the window is providing a perimeter frame adapted to engage the window opening of the structure. The window has at least one window pane having a window pane perimeter. The window uses multiple perimeter retainer members including an outer perimeter retainer member and an inner perimeter retainer member, the perimeter retainer members typically having opposed substantially flat walls configured to engage the outer pane surface and the inner pane surface, respectively, and perimeter clip member engaging walls. Holding the retainer members are perimeter clip members configured with a first end and a second end, at least the first end adapted to resiliently engage at least one of the perimeter retainer members and a second end to engage the other retainer member so as to maintain the retainers in spaced apart relation with the flat walls thereof flush against walls adjacent the window pane perimeter. There may be resilient sealing members adapted to engage the flat walls of the retainer members to seal the same against the window panes, the perimeter frame adapted to engage the perimeter clip members so as to hold the inner and outer perimeter retainer members fixedly adjacent the frame. 1. An adhesive interlocking mounting track for removably securing a sheet of semi-rigid or rigid material to a building structure. The mounting track is comprised of a base member and a locking member that snap together. When the two pieces are in engagement a retention channel is formed between then, for holding a relatively flat sheet of material. The mounting track is secured to the interior of a window or doorframe via a coat of adhesive on the back of an attachment plate portion of the base member. Thus the device is an easy to install material retention means. Additionally, it can be applied to the interior of a frame to recess the retained sheet of material and reduce its exposure to the environment.

The structural adhesive may comprise a silicone. Another exemplary embodiment relates to a sash assembly. The sash assembly includes an outer sash having at least one groove, an inner sash having at least one groove, and a removable binder extending along a perimeter of a surface of the outer sash and inner sash. The binder is configured to engage the outer sash and the inner sash and to mechanically couple the outer sash and the inner sash together. The binder includes a plurality of protrusions. Each protrusion is configured to mate with one of the groove in the inner sash and the groove in the outer sash. Each protrusion includes a plurality of flexible barbs that are compressed when the protrusion mates with one of the grooves. The flexible barbs provide a force on interior edges of the groove to couple the inner sash and outer sash together. The binder is configured for removal for service of the sash assembly.

Disclosed is a method for assembling insulating glass panes filled with a gas other than air. According to said method, two glass sheets provided with a spacer are arranged in a vertical or inclined position and facing each other, gas that is different from air is introduced into a chamber from below and the insulating glass pane is formed by moving the glass sheets closer to each other after reaching a desired gas filling level. The polarized panes are formed from transparent substrates that are brushed with a brushing pattern that varies continuously in a select direction over each of one or more periods. The current invention relates to a unique and compact self-lock glazing mechanism for heavy glazing needs, composed of two aluminum extrusion profiles—a male profile and a female profile—designed in such a way to self-lock glass panels using rubber beading; the said glazing system functions when glass panel is placed on the setting blocks over the upper leg of the said female profile with a pair of spacers between the vertical tip of the said female profile and the said glass panel, and then the horizontal leg of the said male profile is inserted with its locking tip facing upward into the gap between the lower and upper legs of the said female profile; the locking tips of both the male and female profiles are then engaged by tilting the said male profile on its built-in fulcrum by pulling the vertical leg outward and introducing a pair of wedges into the space so created between the said glass panel and the said vertical tip of the male profile to keep the lock engaged and the said profiles get arrested; eventually the said glass panel is locked in the said glazing system; and the said mechanism further tightens its grip on the edges of the locked glass panel when the spacers and wedges are replaced by grooved rubber beadings of appropriate resilience which enables the said glass panel to remain in equilibrium throughout the life of the rubber beading; the introduction of the rubber beadings into the system lends a unique dynamism to the mechanism due to the built in fulcrum built in the said male profile, the inherent resilience of rubber causes a mating action in the said locking chamber and the resulting equal and opposite reaction keep the glass panel in an equilibrium; this balancing act of forces remains in the locking system throughout the life of the rubber beading as a dynamic phenomenon. 1. The window system of claim 1 , wherein the tongue extension defines a pocket that receives the rod gasket.3. The window system of claim 2 , wherein an inner wall of the pocket extends more than 180° and a portion of the rod gasket protrudes from the pocket.4.
