In the event of an interruption, the circuit can record the present time and/or date in memory. An RFID transponder disposed within the encapsulant or the receiving member can then transmit the recorded date/time to an RFID interrogator if a dispute subsequently arises as to when the lock had been broken.

A lock that is configured to be attached to electronic equipment requiring securing against theft and the lock comprising: a lock body; a locking element protruding from the lock body and having a forward distal section that is comparatively wider in cross-sectional size compared to a rear section thereof, the forward section being configured to be insertable into a cavity formed in the equipment, where the cavity is defined by an opening having a size and shape slightly larger than the cross-sectional size of the forward section of the locking element and an interior larger in cross-sectional size than the opening of the cavity; a slidable locking pin configured to slide alongside the locking element and into the cavity, after the locking element has been inserted into said cavity, to substantially fill a space of the cavity left unoccupied by the locking element; a sliding mechanism coupled to the locking pin and configured to slide the locking pin into and out of the cavity; and a locking mechanism to lock the locking mechanism within the lock body to prevent withdrawal of the locking element from the cavity. 1. There is provided, in combination, a mounting assembly for an upright pole through which at least one cable extends and an anti-theft assembly for inhibiting theft of the cable. A portable lock comprising:a lock body;a locking arm having a first end pivotally connected to the lock body for pivotal rotation about the first axis and a free end movable relative to the lock body, the locking arm pivotally movable between a closed position wherein the free end engages a portion of the lock body and an open position wherein the free end is spaced apart from the portion of the lock body by a gap, the locking arm constrained to move relative to the lock body only by rotation about the first axis; andan electrically-controlled locking mechanism having: a locked configuration wherein, with the locking arm in the closed position, the locking mechanism locks the locking arm in the closed position; and an unlocked configuration wherein the locking arm is pivotally movable from the closed position to the open position;a signal receiver connected to control the locking mechanism to switch from the locked configuration to the unlocked configuration in response to receiving an unlock signal.2. A portable lock according to claim 1 , comprising a bias mechanism arranged to bias the locking arm toward the closed position.3. A portable lock according to claim 1 , wherein the portable lock is configured with an access limit that limits a number of times the unlock signal may be used to activate the locking mechanism.45-.
