The method and the arrangement according to the invention for monitoring and controlling processes in the field of the further processing of products of a printing machine into finished printed products such as newspapers, magazines, and similar items is based on a functional cross-linking of a plurality of image processing modules (1.1 to 1.5). When a sheet ejector ejects an unsuitable sheet from a transport path in a printing system, additional sheets downstream of said unsuitable sheet are generally discharged to preserve the image order as prescribed by the print instructions. The present invention relates to a method and system for supplying document accumulation sets to an inserter system wherein sheets are first feed into a sheet stacking device to be stacked into a stacking pile. Individual sheets are then fed in seriatim from the stacking pile into a collating device, which collates a predetermined number of the individual sheets into a collation set. The collation set is then advanced into an accumulating device, which accumulates at least one collation set to form an accumulation set. The accumulation set is then advanced into the inserter system for further processing.

Für die Einschleusung der zurückgeführten Gegenstände in den Zuführungsstrom werden in diesem stromaufwärts von der Rückführungsstelle (6) Lücken erzeugt. Zur Synchronisation von rückgeführten Gegenständen und Lücken wird die Länge (in Fördertakten) des Rückführungsweges (9) abgestimmt auf die Länge (in Fördertakten) des Zuführungsweges (3) von der Lückenerzeugungsstelle (5) zur Rückführungsstelle (6) und auf eine zeitliche Differenz (in Fördertakten) zwischen Nicht-Abgabe und Lückenerzeugung. Das System ist insbesondere geeignet für die Zuführung von Hauptprodukten ab Rotation zu einer Stapelung und Paketierung zu Norm und Spitzenpaketen, wobei die Hauptprodukte vor der Stapelung komplettiert werden. Es ist in dieser Anwendung möglich die Zuführung regelmässig getaktet zu betreiben ohne für die Spitzenpakete eine separate Verarbeitungsvorrichtung vorsehen zu müssen und ohne Ausschleusung von bereits komplettierten, fertigen Produkten. <IMAGE>

If the length is longer than the predetermined length, the paper sheet (W 2 ) is ejected from the loop-shaped part.

When a double or interrupted feed is detected, the controller (9) stops the abstraction of sheets from the stack. However it allows the loader (4) to feed all preceding sheets into the machine. It also controls the switching of the ink supply (11) and moves the rubber-coated cylinder (12) out of contact when the double sheet arrives at the stop.

A pharmaceutical filling system for a high volume pharmacy is described. The system can include a paper feed device and method. The system may include a paper collator with at one selectively openable shelf. A control device may monitor the capacity of the selectively openable shelf, and instruct a printer to hold printing additional print jobs. The selectively openable shelf may then be opened to allow the printed literature resting thereon to fall to a lower shelf, and the printer can then be restarted. Sheets of printed literature may be drawn from the paper collator, collected with any other sheets of printed literature associated with a prescription order, and mated with the prescription order for shipment.
