In a method for manufacturing tyres for vehicle wheels, a green tyre, once formed, is transferred into a vulcanisation mould and pressed against the holding walls of a moulding cavity. Concurrently with the pressing step, a fluid present between the green tyre and the holding walls is evacuated through vent valves. The tyre is brought into contact with the closing head of each valve so as to push it toward a closed position of the valve itself. The closing head has a distal portion facing the moulding cavity and includes at least one grip element for the tyre blend, so that the closure member is pulled toward the open position while the moulded and cured tyre is moved away from the inner surface of said moulding cavity.

Further, the expansion device turns-up the lateral ends of the tire carcass while at the same time radially expanding the tire carcass. An abrading wheel such as a rasp hub for use in tire retreading machines includes two generally circular end, or side, plates with plural spaced mounting pins extending between and coupled to the two spaced plates. Rasp blades arranged in stacks which are arranged end-to-end about the wheel's circular circumference. Disposed between and engaging each pair of adjacent blades is a spacer, which is also attached to the mounting pins. Each spacer is curved lengthwise to match the curvature of the blades and includes plural spaced upper and lower recesses disposed immediately adjacent to its pair of adjacent blades to allow air to freely pass over the entire length of each blade as the hub is rotated at high speed to dissipate heat from the blades during operation for increased blade reliability and longevity.

A tread for a vehicle tire has an electrically conducting layer axially inside a portion of a first, radially outer rubber layer of the tread. The electrically conductive layer extends from a second, radially inner rubber layer of the tread on the radially inner side of the tread rubber material up to a ground contact surface of the tread. During the tire build-up, an accumulation of rubber material of higher electrical conductivity is built on a first rubber layer of higher electrical conductivity. The accumulation is formed into a ridge web and then less-conductive rubber is laid laterally next to the web, such that the web of rubber material reaches up to the ground contact surface in the finished vehicle tire. The web is shaped by forming rollers, by baffles, or by a forming ring with a corresponding shape.

A method for manufacturing a pneumatic tire having a carcass ply of cords rubberized with topping rubber, comprises a process for building a raw tire on an annular surface of an uninflatable core mold, and a process for vulcanizing the raw tire built on the core mold by heating the raw tire together with the core mold. The process for building the raw tire comprises making the raw carcass ply by rubberizing the carcass cords with the raw topping rubber. The carcass cords are made of polyethylene terephthalate or alternatively polyethylene naphthalate. The dry heat shrinkage percentage of the carcass cords before subjected to the vulcanizing process is 1 to 3% at 180 degrees C. The Mooney viscosity of the raw topping rubber is 35 to 70 (ML1+4, 130 deg. C.).

A tire vulcanization mold can be configured to provide stable ventilation. For example, a tire molding surface has a ventilation groove having a rectangular shape in plan view. A blade has upper end, contact and communication sections. The upper end section thickness is smaller than a groove thickness. The contact section below the upper end section contacts both thickness-direction-facing side faces of the groove. The communication section communicates between a ventilation hole, and a small gap is formed between the groove and the upper end section. Alternatively, the blade has a groove section formed in at least one side face that faces in a blade thickness direction and extends between upper and lower blade ends to form a small gap between the groove and groove section. Air and gas pass through the gap and the communication section and vent to an exterior of the mold through the ventilation hole.

The body includes a stem and a valve disc disposed at an inner end of the stem on the side of a mould surface, the diameter of the valve disc is larger than the inner diameter of the body. A spring member is arranged in the air venting valve for forcing the inner part in a predetermined position for opening the valve when a blank is removed from the vulcanizing mould. The lower part of the inner part of the body includes an outer thread and in the lower part of the body a respective inner thread for screwing the valve stem in the body.

Tires in use wear in a host of ways. One negative manner in which tires, especially truck tires, may wear is in an irregular fashion. When this phenomenon happens, the tread of the tire may become unusable, forcing the user to replace the tire, which is undesirable. This patent application poses a new and useful way of preventing irregular wear involving the use of hidden sipes or tread blocks. In some embodiments, these hidden sipes or tread blocks are found in tread blocks or ribs adjacent other tread blocks or ribs that have been determined to be susceptible to irregular wear. In other embodiments, the hidden sipes or tread blocks are formed by a sipe blade that has a connecting member to which two y-branched members are attached, and further comprising dividing members that connect between the y-branched members.

A curing bladder for a tire comprising a body made of a flexible material suited to being inserted in the drawn-in position inside a pneumatic tire in a curing mould and which is capable of being expanded so as to flatten the tire against the internal surface of the mould , wherein the said body is produced based on a film made of a thermoplastic polymer and has a cylindrical tube shape when the bladder is in the drawn-in position.2. The bladder according to claim 1 , wherein the said film made of a thermoplastic polymer is of the non-stick type.3. The bladder according to claim 1 , wherein the said film is chosen from the group of the films comprising at least one fluoropolymer.4. The bladder according to claim 3 , wherein the fluoropolymer is selected from the group of the polymers consisting of a fluorinated ethylene/propylene copolymer (FEP) claim 3 , a perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) claim 3 , an ethylene/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer (ETFE) claim 3 , a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and their mixtures.5.
