The pressurized fluid flow over the outlet of the discharge line aerosolizes liquids emanating from the outlet ends. Each liquid ejecting element takes the form of a piston disposed within a cylinder. The pistons responds to pressurized fluid imposed directly thereon from the source to generate the motive force on the ejecting element.

A bypass conduit communicates with the tank and with the delivery conduit at a location between the pump and the first valve. A liquid delivery system comprises a tank containing a supply of liquid. A positive displacement pump operates to withdraw the liquid from the tank via a suction conduit and to deliver a pressurized flow of the liquid via a delivery conduit. This generally parabolic flow surface provides additional surface area for dehydration of coating fluids, thereby improving color matching as compared to traditional bell cups, for example, by affording capability for higher wet solids content. In addition, the coating fluid accelerates along the generally parabolic flow surface, resulting in the fluid leaving the bell cup at a greater velocity than in traditional bell cups. Furthermore, a splash plate disposed adjacent the bell cup, in certain embodiments, is designed such that fluid accelerates through an annular area between the splash plate and the generally parabolic flow surface. This acceleration may substantially reduce or eliminate low-pressure cavities in which fluid and/or particulate matter may be trapped, resulting in an even application of coating fluid and more effective cleaning of the bell cup as compared with traditional bell cups.

A monitoring arrangement monitors the operation of a cleaning-in-place system which is operable to remove contaminations, deposits and other impurities from the internal walls of a container. The CIP system comprises a pipe for extending into the container through a wall portion of the container, and a nozzle head for ejecting liquid into the container in a predetermined pattern. The monitoring arrangement comprises a sensor unit with a sensing surface responsive to liquid impact for enabling the sensor unit to emit a sensor signal indicative of the liquid impact. The sensing surface is elongated and configured to extend along a perimeter of the pipe when the sensor unit is mounted at the wall portion of the container. This enables improved performance of a processing unit that obtains and processes the sensor signal for monitoring the operation of the CIP system. 1. A monitoring arrangement for a cleaning system installed in a container , the cleaning system comprising a pipe configured to extend into the container through a wall portion of the container , a nozzle head connected for rotation at an end of the pipe inside the container so as to eject a liquid , and a drive member operable to impart a rotation to the nozzle head around a first axis such that the liquid is ejected into the container in a predetermined pattern , said monitoring arrangement comprising:a sensor unit for mounting at the wall portion of the container, the sensor unit comprising a sensing surface responsive to liquid impact for enabling the sensor unit emit a sensor signal indicative of the liquid impact, anda processing unit configured to obtain the sensor signal from the sensor unit and process the sensor signal for monitoring the operation of the cleaning system,wherein the sensing surface is elongated and configured to extend along a perimeter of the pipe when the sensor unit is mounted at the wall portion of the container.2.
