In one embodiment, the liquid pump includes a fluid chamber that has a top portion when in the inverted position and at least one side wall located below the top portion. A liquid intake port extends through the at least one side wall and allows fluid to flow into the fluid chamber. The pump also includes a check valve to prevent fluid from flowing out of the fluid chamber through the fluid intake port that is located in the at least one side wall. Actuation of the liquid pump in a first direction causes fluid to enter the fluid chamber through the fluid intake port and actuation of the liquid pump in a second direction causes liquid to exit the fluid chamber trough the fluid chamber outlet and out of a dispensing outlet. In one embodiment, the check valve is an elastomeric valve. The elastomeric valve may include a top portion to seal of an inlet opening in the top of an existing pump to convert the pump into a pump having an inlet opening below the top of the pump. In another embodiment, the fluid piston in the liquid pump is the check valve that seals off the intake opening from the fluid chamber when the fluid piston is moved past the inlet opening.

The housing includes a controller that stores one or more reference ID codes that match the tag ID codes associated with each of one or more data tags. The data tags are used to identify predetermined areas in which the portable dispenser is to be used. Thus, as the use monitor is brought into proximity with each data tag, indicating that the portable dispenser has been used in the associated area, the use monitor validates the reference ID codes if it matches the tag ID code of the particular data tag. A pump dispenser is intended for oral administration of medicines. A pump receives fluid product through a valved inlet from a container, preferably of the airless type with a follower piston. The dispenser may be a movable-nozzle or fixed-nozzle dispenser. The discharge outlet of the dispenser has a stub nozzle incorporating a closure valve. A spring urges the closure valve forward to close a discharge opening of the stub nozzle. The nozzle attachment is shaped for oral dosing and has an internal rearwardly-projecting actuating structure which, when the nozzle attachment is coupled onto the stub nozzle, pushes the closure valve open. When the nozzle attachment is removed the spring closes the outlet again. Child-resistant features are described for fitting the nozzle attachment to the stub nozzle.

The scraping and washing member ( 43 ) is held by holding means at a scraping and washing position where the scraping and washing member is pulled out of the communication flow paths. By taking out the scraping and washing member ( 43 ) from the nozzle main body ( 42 ) and holding the scraping and washing member ( 43 ) at the scraping and washing position, remaining substance in the communication flow path can be scraped out. By causing water to flow through a washing water flow path in the communication flow path where the remaining substance has been scraped out, the communication flow path can be washed. A paint cup assembly for a paint sprayer is disclosed and includes a cap, a paint reservoir formed with an air inlet port, and a valve assembly disposed within the paint reservoir and engaged with the air inlet, wherein the valve assembly is configured to be operable from a closed configuration, in which air flow through the air inlet port is prevented, and an open configuration, in which air flow through the air inlet port is permitted, upon actuation of a spray gun. 1. A paint cup assembly for a paint sprayer , comprising:a cap;a paint reservoir formed with an air inlet port; anda valve assembly in fluid communication with the paint reservoir and engaged with the air inlet, wherein the valve assembly is configured to be operable from a closed configuration, in which air flow through the air inlet port is prevented, and an open configuration, in which air flow through the air inlet port is permitted, upon actuation of a spray gun.2.
